Double bill of British dramas about football violence and hooliganism. 'The Football Factory' (2004) is based on the novel by John King. Tommy Johnson (Danny Dyer) is a bright but bored 30-year-old with a steady job and close-knit family who lives for the weekend life of casual sex, lager, drugs - and violence. Through him we meet three other males in his world: Billy Bright (Frank Harper), a right-wing fascist full of bitterness at a country that he perceives as having failed him; Zeberdee (Roland Manookian), a mouthy hooligan whose life revolves around crime and drugs; and Bill Farrell (Dudley Sutton), a 70-year-old war veteran who tries to enjoy every day to the limit. Shot in documentary style using a handheld camera, the film realistically captures the lure and potency of football violence. 'Arrivederci Millwall' (1990) follows a group of hardcore Millwall supporters as they travel to Bilbao in Spain for England's World Cup matches in 1982. Their rowdy behaviour soon leads them into trouble, and the violence escalates as Billy Jarvis (Kevin O'Donohoe) steals a gun to avenge his brother's death in the Falklands conflict.

Gritty crime thriller, from director Stuart St Paul, about a group of Russian criminals operating a sex trade in the heart of Northern England. Led by the ruthless Cristi (Danny Midwinter), the gang kidnaps and traffics a group of Eastern Europeans to Leeds, forcing the men into illegal fighting and the women into the sex industry. When they capture local businessman Gabe Taylor (Billy Murray)'s daughter, however, things turn ugly, and it's a race against time to get her back alive in time for her wedding.

British supernatural horror starring Robert Sheehan and Lily Cole. Jack (Sheehan) is a severely troubled man, burdened by the voices in his head. When he discovers that the voices he hears are those of dead people, he realises that they are using him as a messenger to send word to their loved ones. When a recently departed journalist gets in contact with Jack, expressing the need to say goodbye to his wife, Jack obeys the voice and finds himself getting close to the grieving widow, Sarah (Tamzin Merchant). As he spends more time with Sarah, Jack learns dark secrets about the couple, making him question the morals of his unwanted gift.

Full of action, intrigue and romance, Horatio Hornblower (Ioan Gruffudd) battles against the sins of the sea and discovers the true relationship between the French, the English and the Irish. Double bill of fantasy action films. '300' (2006), adapted from Frank Miller's comic book series, is a modern retelling of the Battle of Thermopylae of 480 BC, when the 100,000 strong invading Persian Army of King Xerxes was held back in a narrow mountain pass by 300 Spartans. King Leonidas (Gerard Butler) is given four days by Persia's King Xerxes (Rodrigo Santoro) to lay down his arms and surrender. Rejecting the proposal, the battle ensues, and the Spartans are only defeated by the treachery of local shepherd Ephialtes (Andrew Tiernan), who shows the Persians a secret route, enabling them to outflank their opponents. In the second film, '300: Rise of an Empire' (2014), based on Miller's graphic novel 'Xerxes' and set before, during and after '300', Athenian General Themistocles (Sullivan Stapleton) leads the Greek Army in a war against the invasion of King Xerxes I, naval commander Artemisia (Eva Green) and their Persian forces. Themistocles allies with the Spartans but they are still outnumbered by Xerxes' men. Who will be victorious? The film was co-written by Zack Snyder and Kurt Johnstad and also stars Lena Headey, Jack O'Connell and Hans Matheson.
